Main Floor

From the moment you enter, prepare to be charmed by the home's eclectic farmhouse style and unique finishing details.

While the Saltillo tile in the front entry lends a touch of rusticity, it is balanced by the elegance of a Victorian gas-style chandelier from Rejuventation Hardware.

The coat closet in the entry offers deeper under-staircase storage.

The main floor features flexible spaces to meet a family's changing needs. Cellular blinds on all main floor windows increase the home's energy efficiency. Custom millwork and wood windows enhance the home's character. The clear maple floors have been freshly sealed with a coat of Swedish finish.

As you come through the front door, the step-down library to your right doubles nicely as a sitting room. Custom floor-to-ceiling built-in shelving easily accommodates a large book collection.

The room is well-lit with both bookcase spot lighting and a Colonial Revival bowl-shade chandelier from Rejuvenation Hardware.

To the left of the front entry and directly across from the library is a space that currently functions as both an extension of the front sitting room and a music room.

However, depending on need, this room could easily be converted to a formal dining room.

Ceiling spot lights can highlight artwork on walls or amplify desk and other work lighting as required. The new Parisian Architectural Clear Glass Brasserie Flushmount light fixture from Restoration Hardware gives the room a bit of French Country flair.

The bright kitchen features a large window with a sweeping view that extends from the property's garden and pasture across the valley to the foothills and mountains beyond. Above cabinet lighting adds further warmth to the space. A pair of over-sink brass pendant lights with clear glass shades from Rejuvenation Hardware compliment the newly installed brass country-style faucet.

While the kitchen boasts new granite countertops, the original custom-built knotty pine cabinetry has been retained. With a lovely aged patina, beadboard doors, and brass hardware the cabinets help strike the perfect balance between casual elegance and rustic country charm.

The kitchen's open shelving unit is a classic feature that is currently on-trend with the popular farmhouse style.

A nook off the kitchen is the perfect spot for a small breakfast table or a pair of chairs. This space is accented by a unique pendant light from Rejuvenation Hardware.

Depending upon your family's needs, the flexible hearth room/keeping space adjoining the kitchen could function as a large dining room or as a family room.

This space features another Rejuvenation Hardware chandelier in the Late Victorian style that has been updated with clear glass shades. A wood burning fireplace keeps this space cozy in cooler weather. Further, the insert easily heats the entire 2000 sq. ft. main house on even the coldest Northwest nights.

French doors open from the hearth room onto a hardwood deck constructed of weather-resistant Brazilian ipe wood.

The large deck expands outdoor living and entertaining possibilities.

A mudroom connects the main house with the carriage house and above floor bonus area.

Situated within the mudroom are a newer front-loading clothes washer and dryer set, as well as a wash tub. Hooks for coats, hats, backpacks, etc. are conveniently mounted on walls.

The Saltillo tile flooring echoes the same tile found in the entry.

The adjoining bathroom with shower is an added convenience.

The furnace and water heater are housed in a closet in the mudroom. Installed within the past five years, the heat pump and back-up propane furnace keep the home comfortable year 'round. The new propane water heater, installed May 2015, improved energy efficiency and brought this system up to current code standards.
